He is as white as the snow, as graceful as a swan, and as
magical as they come. He’s Pegasus, the
winged stallion of Greek legend.
Pegasus came into existence when he sprang from the neck of the hideous Medusa, a deity of the underworld with hair of hissing snakes. Pegasus’ birth occurred when Medusa was beheaded by the hero Perseus while she was pregnant by Poseidon, making Pegasus the son of the great sea god.
Pegasus had man adventures in Greek mythology, and every place he struck his hoof on Earth, a spring of water came forth. Eventually, Pegasus became the servant of the Muses. Zeus rewarded Pegasus for his loyal service by making him a constellation. If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, you can still see Pegasus when you look at he night sky in late summer through the autumn.
