PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT — RE: COVID-19

Blog by Michael Stuart Webb | April 5th, 2020

Hi everyone, Michael Stuart Webb here with The Michael Stuart Webb Team at Re/Max Hallmark Chay Realty. Today I’m coming to you from my home office in beautiful Clearview Township, as I continue to practice social distancing and self-isolation.

This past week the Ford government released their future COVID-19 projections, and while we have done an amazing job at mitigating what could have been a total catastrophe, the projections are still quite staggering. This month alone, it is estimated that 1,600 people will lose their lives from COVID-19 and that 80,000 people will become infected.

Had the Government of Ontario not acted quickly, it is predicted that we would have seen over 300,000 cases of infection and an alarming 6,000 deaths by the end of this month alone.

In response to these predictions, the Provincial Government has revised their list of essential services, significantly reducing the types of business that are permitted to remain open, and subsequently ordering the closure of these new non-essential operations by 11:59 on Saturday April 4th.

While some of the services we offer, like open houses, have been temporarily banned during this state of emergency, we Realtors are still considered essential service however, and we will continue to do everything we can to support our Client’s needs in a safe manner.

We MUST continue to do our part to curb the spread of this terrifying pandemic by staying at home.

We at the Michael Stuart Webb Team are committed to our clients and our community. We continue to serve both with an emphasis on protecting you, and ensuring your welfare is always paramount to anything else.

Having said this, you will NOT see us encouraging you to place yourselves, or your family in danger by prioritizing our business above the needs of the greater good. Instead, we have strengthened our resolve to supporting our community during these very challenging times.

You will NOT see us encouraging you to place yourselves in harms way, but instead you will see us making every effort to lift you up by offering you our continued friendship and solidarity in the face of this global catastrophe.

You will also NOT see us exploiting this tragedy to advance our personal interests, instead you will see us dropping off much needed supplies at the doorsteps of those who cannot leave their homes.

We are doing everything we possibly can to continue offering our Clients the highest standard of care, and fortunately for those partnered with The Michael Stuart Webb Team, we are utilizing every available technology to continue showcasing your properties, be that virtually or from our website and social media outlets.  We are also utilizing every available technology to continue supporting our Buyer Clients.

Our friends, despite what some others might have you believe, it is NOT business as usual, at least it isn’t for The Michael Stuart Webb Team; to suggest otherwise would be negligent and frankly, grossly irresponsible. Rather, it is time to stand up and make difficult choices to protect you; our valued friends, clients, colleagues, and business partners. With that in mind, we will not be conducting any form of business interactions that would endanger the lives and well being of others, including those of our team.

We are, as we always have been, your best advocate, and your champions. We will ALWAYS do the right thing by you and these times are no exception.

Please stay safe by staying at home and by limiting your exposure to anyone beyond your front door.

We are always here for you and we are only a call, a text, or an email away if ever you need anything.... even if it’s for a chat to help pass away the time.

Once again, please remain vigilant.  Please stay safe.  Please remain in your homes as much as possible.

We will continue updating you and new information becomes available, and in the interim, we look forward to continuing our work with each of you, and wish you continued good health.

Bye for now.
